Startup Geo Interactive to launch streaming multimedia tool
By Maria Seminerio

Startup Geo Interactive Media Group Ltd., of Israel, will launch a streaming multimedia applications suite at the Internet World trade show in March that officials claim offers a 400 percent compression-rate improvement over competing products.

Geo's Emblaze technology incorporates real-time interactive features into streaming multimedia applications, company officials said. The applications, engineered specifically for the Internet rather than for running on CD-ROM, also include a Java-based authoring tool called Emblaze Creator.

Emblaze has been licensed by several entertainment and news Web sites, with deals to be formally announced at Internet World, according to officials at Geo, in Tel Aviv.

The $130 million company, traded on the London Stock Exchange, also develops CD-ROM games and other Java-based multimedia tools for the Internet.

Geo can be reached at www.emblaze.com/.
