PictureTel, 3Com offer videoconferencing bundle

3Com Corp. and PictureTel Corp. will offer a bundled package that includes desktop switches and a videoconferencing startup kit for $18,375. The package includes four SuperStack II desktop switch products and a 3000 TX Fast Ethernet switch from 3Com, plus the LiveLAN starter kit from PictureTel. With the switches and software, customers could set up dedicated 10M-bps access and videoconferencing support for 108 users. PictureTel and 3Com have teamed up in the past to offer a bundle of network interface cards and LAN-based videoconferencing software. 3Com, of Santa Clara, Calif., can be reached at www.3com.com.
