Shiva simplifies ISDN implementation

Hoping to make it easier to implement its remote-access solutions, Shiva Corp. today rolled out its Provision Plus ISDN line-provisioning service for value-added resellers and customers. Shiva customers can now maintain Basic Rate Interface and Primary Rate Interface ISDN lines through Provision Plus rather than through their local phone companies. They also receive technical assistance for both the lines and Shiva's remote access equipment from a single source, company officials said. "With Provision Plus, the burden is removed from the customer or VAR while Shiva interfaces with the RBOC, getting the line ordered and properly configured in less time and with less hassle," said Richard Lanchantin, vice president of worldwide customer support at Shiva, in Bedford, Mass. The service offers line provisioning for the LANRover/Plus multiprotocol, multiplatform remote access server; the AccessPort ISDN client router; and the LANRover Access Switch, Shiva officials said. The service is available immediately to U.S. customers by calling (888) 939-4736. Pricing starts at $30, excluding line installation and maintenance, and will vary depending on the level of service.
