Wang beefs up document imaging tools
By Maria Seminerio

Wang Laboratories Inc. has upgraded its Windows NT-based document imaging and workflow software to include support for NT 4.0, Microsoft Corp.'s SQL Server 6.5 and its System Management Software client, company officials said.

OPEN/image and OPEN/workflow, which first shipped a year ago, now account for almost 60 percent of the company's total software revenues, said Wang president Bob Weiler.

Wang also announced today it will ship an optional add-on capability to its Imaging for Windows desktop imaging software. The new package, to be known as Imaging for Windows: Client/Server Edition, will provide enhanced image viewing capabilities and will include ActiveX controls.

The upgraded versions of OPEN/image, OPEN/workflow and Imaging for Windows will roll out next month, when pricing will be announced, Wang officials said.

Wang, based in Billerica, Mass., can be reached at www.wang.com/.
