Open Market preps major E-commerce upgrade
By Michael Moeller

Fall Internet World Open Market Inc. will introduce a major upgrade to its flagship product OM-Transact next week at the Internet World trade show in New York.

Among several new features, OM-Transact Version 2.3 will gain native API hooks to client/server applications for order fulfillment and order entry systems. Some vendors to be supported include PeopleSoft Inc., Baan Co. and SAP AG. The new version also will provide tight hooks to electronic data interchange software applications.

In addition, OM-Transact 2.3 will also enable users to set up electronic commerce sites that support a variety of payment options, including support for standard purchase orders, credit cards and CyberCash payment systems.

The announcement of OM-Transact comes on the heels of today's announcement that OM-Transact is now available on HP-UX. Slated to be available in the first quarter of next year, OM-Transact is priced at $250,000 for corporate users.
