Puma Technology launches IPO

Puma Technology Inc., a developer of mobile data exchange software for notebook computers, personal digital assistants and smart pagers, today announced it has offered 3.9 million shares of stock in an initial public offering.
Shares of Puma stock will be priced at $9.50, and the offering will be managed by Deutsche Morgan Grenfell Inc. and Alex Brown & Sons Inc.
The company also develops software for handheld PCs and smart phones.
Puma is based in San Jose, Calif.
